Hi, my name is Kay. I love travelling and have done so since my early 20s and I am now in my mid 60s, a MOTHER of 2 and GRANDMA to 3 beautiful kids.
I also speak fluent Thai, Chinese Mandarin, Swedish and English.
I am not a millionaire but have travelled to more than 45 countries aorund the world.
I like to go off the beaten track and experience life as a local would in their country. Instead of hiding in the comforts of a hotel, often I stay in hostels because I meet more people this way and get to hear of the best non-tourist spots to visit.
I’ve managed to travel within a small budget by doing plenty of research on the internet and getting as much information as possible on the best deals and learning the best way to travel and see the world.
I believe you can do this too. If you’re passionate about travel then nothing should stop you from making it happen. You just learn to be more resourceful and open-minded.
Travel photos before 2007 are rare. I had no way to record and file my adventures until 2007 when my niece introduced me to digital photography – she said all I have to do is “point and shoot”. I was hooked and bought my first digital camera – a PENTAX and have taken thousands of shots since then.
I’ve seen amazing places, witnessed breathtaking sunsents and have met many interesting people from all over the world.
At this stage in my life I realise the importance of doing what I love and trusting that it will all fall into place somehow. People think I should remain in the safety of my home but I crave adventure and live completely to travel and experience what the big wide world has to offer. Age is nothing but a number and I encourage all of you to get out there LIVE and see atleast one new place every year!
